Spending Calculation Method
- The previous month’s spending for a “basic discount” is calculated from the first to the last day of the previous month (based on the transaction approval date). The quarterly spending for a “quarterly additional discount”* is calculated over the 3 months from the first month to the last month of the quarter, including the month of card issuance (based on the transaction approval date). This applies to purchases made at both domestic and overseas merchants. For amounts spent at overseas merchants, on transportation cards, and for automated telecommunications bill payments, the spending is applied based on the date the transaction slip is received.
* Quarters: First quarter (Jan. to March), second quarter (April to June), third quarter (July to Sept.), and fourth quarter (Oct. to Dec.)
- Interest-free installment payments, use of government subsidies (childcare subsidy, kindergarten subsidy, vouchers, etc.), payments of university (graduate school) tuition, national and local taxes, public utility bills (public charges),* purchases of gift certificates (including mobile gift certificates on KakaoTalk), prepaid cards (points, cyber money, game money, and other electronic payment methods), gift card (incl. reloading), transportation card (incl. mobile transportation card), payments of express bus fare (onboard terminals and express bus app payments), apartment maintenance fees (including rent), various fees and interest charges, annual fees, short-term card loans (cash advances), and long-term card loans (card loans), cancelled transactions, new car purchases, purchases at online pharmaceutical stores and pharmaceutical merchants are not counted toward monthly and quarterly spending amounts.
* Public utility (public charge) payments include: National Health Insurance, National Pension, Employment Insurance, Workers’ Compensation Insurance, electricity bills, postage, city gas, water and sewage charges, fines, penalties, passport issuance fees, and payments made to national/public institutions or organizations (incl. local governments)
- The monthly discount limit for the “basic discount” is applied from the first to the last day of the current month based on the previous month’s spending. This service is applied in the order transactions (purchases) are processed.
- Cancelled transactions are deducted from the spending used for calculation on the day the cancellation is reported. (If the cancellation of a transaction at a domestic merchant is reported between the first and second of the month, the corresponding amount will be deducted from the previous month’s spending.)
Example) If a transaction made on January 31 is cancelled and the cancellation slip is received by the card issuer by February 2, the corresponding amount will be deducted from January’s spending. If it is received after February 2, it will be deducted from February’s spending.
- 'The basic discount' service is provided until the end of the following month based on the earlier of the card receipt date or the first usage date, even if the previous month’s spending condition is not met.

Family Card

- The annual fees for family cards are based on the fees of the respective primary card, and there is no limit to the number of family cards that can be issued.
- The monthly and quarterly spending requirements and discount limits for additional services provided for family cards are applied separately from those of the primary card.
- For year-end tax settlement purposes, the total amount of spending on family cards is counted as the spending of the primary cardholder (the person whose name appears on the front or back of the card). Please note that the annual income criteria follow the standards set by the National Tax Service.
- If the primary cardholder wishes to receive notifications about the family cardholder’s spending details, a request must be made through the Woori Card Customer Center (1588-9955).
- Billing statements for family cards will be sent to the address and by the method designated by the primary cardholder.
- In the event of changes in family status due to divorce, death, or legal separation, either the primary or family cardholder may suspend or cancel the family card by visiting a Woori Bank branch, contacting the Woori Card Customer Center (1588-9955), or using the Woori Card website or mobile app (Go to MY ▶ Manage My Cards ▶ Report Loss/Reissue/Cancel ▶Temporary Suspension/Cancellation or Card Cancellation)
- Failure to suspend or cancel a family card after a change in family status may result in unauthorized card usage, for which the primary cardholder will be held liable.
- The spending limit on a family card may be reduced at the primary cardholder’s request, or the card may be suspended or canceled without the family cardholder’s consent.

Overseas Usage Guide

- In the case of overseas transactions (incl. transactions on overseas websites), the transaction amount in U.S. dollars (USD) is converted to Korean won (KRW) based on the first telegraphic transfer selling rate posted by Woori Bank on the date the transaction slip is received. The amount billed in KRW includes the international brand fee charged by the card network
(Mastercard 1%) and the overseas service fee charged by Woori Card (0.3%).
- When withdrawing cash from an overseas ATM, the USD equivalent of the withdrawal amount is converted to KRW based on the first telegraphic transfer selling rate posted by Woori Bank at the time of withdrawal. The amount also includes the international brand fee (Mastercard 1%) and a $3 overseas ATM withdrawal fee per transaction.
- When paying in KRW overseas, additional fees may be charged for converting local currency to KRW. We recommend paying in local currency rather than KRW for overseas transactions. (Go to Woori Card website ▶ Usage Guide ▶ Overseas Usage Guide ▶ Overseas Usage Guide)
